A wild yet lively and very drinkable red wine blend from Austria that's made from Saint Laurent and Zweigelt. Delicate tannins and a vibrant red and black berried fruit character make this an excellent wine for the table. Drinks well with a slight chill.
Claus Preisinger decided to make wine the way his grandfather did--using carbonic maceration and light extraction. And of course he does this all naturally: biodyanmic farming, natural yeast, aged in 3000 liter foudres and no filtering. A pure expression of the grapes within, Zweigelt and Saint Laurent, it shows a definite funk on the nose, but in the glass it's all juicy black fruit (cherry, blackberry) soft tannins, but without the usual banana/bubble gum notes you often get with carbonic maceration. Preisinger took design inspiration from classic soda bottles.
