The 2014 is bigger, denser and heavier concentration than previous vintages of this wine.1882 Cabernet Sauvignon, opens intensely with an alluring nose featuring notes of cassis, sandalwood, cigar box, black currants, spice and vanilla. To retain the aromatic quality of the varietals, 1882 is aged in 1 to 2-year-old oak, making wood less influential on the wine. On the palate there is a rush of tannin and big bold start of lush black fruits that flow easily over the structure. Generous and long, the flavors are well defined, elevated by a pluck of natural acidity. The wine finishes fresh with foresty floral notes and a hint of wood and herbs.
