I. VARIETIES: 70% Tempranillo, 20% Mazuelo, 10% Garnacha.
II. ALCOHOL DEGREE: 13% Vol.
III. VINEYARDS AND VINTAGE:Located in the South of Monte Yerga, Finca Cuesta de la Reina is a caralsol hillside that begins at 450 meters altitude and rises to 800 meters. Its soils are clayey-calcareous, poor and with abundant pebbles, it is a farm of more than 120 Hectares that belongs to the family for four generations and in which the vineyard has always been cultivated. Average age of the vineyards 40 years. After carrying out a meticulous monitoring of the vineyard, the grapes are harvested at the optimum moment of maturation. The tempranillo variety was harvested during the first half of October, the Grenache in mid-October and the mazuelo the last week of October and the first of November. The harvest is done manually,
IV. ELABORATION: The fermentation is done in stainless steel tanks
and with native yeast. Once finished fermenting it will macerate for at least 10 days. The aging takes place in barrels of American Oak with an average of 5 years of age and remains in them for at least 18 months. During this time, three trasiegos are made. Once the wine is clean it is bottled, remaining in the bottle before going on the market for at least 28 months.
V. TASTING: Red color tile good layer. Clean, complex and with good intensity on the nose, aromas of red fruits well combined with aging, balsamic, spices (pepper), snuff and leathers. Good structure, tasty, broad, soft but with character and a good harmony in its flavors. Complex and clean via retronasal.
SAW. RECOMMENDED DISHES: Serrano and Iberico ham. Cured cheeses, red meats, game stews and roasts, Big Game and smaller.
